J S L Materials Inc. has been in the construction materials industry since 1890. The company was started through the pioneering efforts of John S. Lane. Mr. Lane was employed by N.Y.N.H.H. Railroad where he had the foresight and vision to discover the need for aggregates to support the tracks. From there, the company has grown to what it is today.
John S. Lane & Son is one of the leading aggregate producers in New England. Headquartered in Westfield, Massachusetts the company has five mining operations including four quarries and one sand/gravel pit. These operations supply crushed stone, sand and gravel to the major construction projects in the greater Springfield and Worcester markets. While the materials are used for all aspects of construction the aggregate is primarily utilized for ready mix and bituminous concrete.
